چکیده

Radon, an element of natural radiation, is considered one the leading causes lung cancer worldwide. In Bangladesh, radon has been clarified as a foremost source radiation exposure. Potential natural-radiation-induced elevated risks were estimated in Bangladesh previously for population. this survey, very preliminary study country, comparative indoor (222Rn, Rn) and thoron (220Rn, Tn) concentration/population exposure was determined multistoried dwellings south-western areas Dhaka city. RADUET used to assess annual Rn Tn concentrations determining primary inhalation dose The effective evaluated at 0.3 mSvy−1, constituting contribution average 40% with dwelling-based wide range 10–96%. Thus, should not be neglected while estimating radiological from environment. Again, equilibrium factors, F Tn, by short-term measurement averages 0.6 0.02, respectively. Furthermore, using questionnaire estimation principal component analysis, PCA following dwelling characteristics, human lifestyles, long-term concentrations, paper discussed atmospheric/Rn factors investigated

Measurements of indoor radon, thoron and their progeny in Farrukhabad city of Uttar Pradesh, India

Background: More than 50% of the total dose received by human beings from all sources of radiation (both from natural and manmade) comes from radon and its progeny which is responsible for lung cancer in many cases. Materials and Methods: In the present study, the measurements have been carried out by using twin chamber dosimeter cups with LR-115 type-II detectors. The value of track ...

Dose estimation derived from the exposure to radon, thoron and their progeny in the indoor environment

The annual exposure to indoor radon, thoron and their progeny imparts a major contribution to inhalation doses received by the public. In this study, we report results of time integrated passive measurements of indoor radon, thoron and their progeny concentrations that were carried out in Garhwal Himalaya with the aim of investigating significant health risk to the dwellers in the region. The m...

The Concept of Equivalent Radon Concentration for Practical Consideration of Indoor Exposure to Thoron

To consider the total exposure to indoor radon and thoron, a concept of equivalent radon concentration for thoron is introduced, defined as the radon concentration that delivers the same annual effective dose as that resulting from the thoron concentration. The total indoor exposure to radon and thoron is then the sum of the radon concentration and the equivalent radon concentration for thoron....
